How did the roadrunner mascot come to be?

Last spring, a community poll was conducted via social media for mascot suggestions. The top three suggestions were the Roadrunner, Honey Bee and Cardinal.

Redbud administrators allowed the students who are attending Redbud to select their favorite and the Roadrunner ran away with the win.

Artist Danny Gordon designed the colorful Roadrunner, bringing life to the new mascot for Redbud elementary.
