How did Rocky the Roadrunner become our mascot?

Before opening, in the Spring of 2021, a community poll was conducted via social media for mascot suggestions. The top three suggestions were the Roadrunner, Honey Bee and Cardinal.

Redbud administrators allowed the students who are attending Redbud to select their favorite and the Roadrunner ran away with the win.

In Redbud's first year, students at the school came up with nominations for possible names for our new mascot. Rocky was the name our first groups of students selected!

Artist Danny Gordon designed the colorful Roadrunner, bringing life to the new mascot for Redbud Elementary.
